This is great news for active people and massage therapists alike and reaffirms the healthcare benefits of massage as a complementary care strategy for active people.

As the season changes to colder weather it is common for neck and shoulder pain to worsen. When a cold wind blows on our exposed necks the natural reaction is to shrug our shoulders to avoid exposure to the elements and lessen heat loss. This can lead to several types of neck and shoulder pain that can easily be prevented by wearing a scarf or clothing that is warm and appropriately covers the neck. If this news is reaching you a bit too late the good news is that massage can help undo this. Make sure to dress warmly, and if you are in need of treatment feel free to book with me here.

Good work everyone who ran in the marathon today. We are open to 8pm today if you are needing a last minute post marathon RMT massage.
Also, take $10 off any treatment this week if you participated in the marathon. Just bring something in that shows us you were a participant (even a photo) and we’ll take $10 off.
This article published on cbc.ca may be old news, but it is still good news. It states that massage therapy is seen in studies to be as effective at reducing inflammation in muscles as over the counter medication. While reaching for a bottle of pills may be more convenient, reaching out to an RMT for your pain relief is an excellent alternative. At Vancouver Health and Sport we try to make it as easy as possible for you to book an appointment with us and often have last-minute availability. Check for availability to book with an RMT now at https://healthandsport.ca !!
