New study shows that Massage is the most effective in relieving DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) and perceived muscle fatigue after exercise.

Are you interested in the science behind your workouts? A recently published (April 2018) systematic review with meta-analysis concludes that “Massage seems to be the most effective method for reducing DOMS and perceived fatigue.”

This is great news for active people and massage therapists alike and reaffirms the healthcare benefits of massage as a complementary care strategy for active people.

Avoid Neck and Shoulder Pain Caused by Cold Weather

As the season changes to colder weather it is common for neck and shoulder pain to worsen. When a cold wind blows on our exposed necks the natural reaction is to shrug our shoulders to avoid exposure to the elements and lessen heat loss. This can lead to several types of neck and shoulder pain that can easily be prevented by wearing a scarf or clothing that is warm and appropriately covers the neck. If this news is reaching you a bit too late the good news is that massage can help undo this. Make sure to dress warmly, and if you are in need of treatment feel free to book with me here.
